Dr. Garrett Taylor

My mission as a surgeon is simple: to deliver top-tier, comprehensive surgical care to rural patients so they don’t have to travel far from their families and support systems. I thrive on the wide scope of general surgery and deeply value the close, personal relationships that form when practicing in a tight-knit community.

Born and raised in rural Odenville, Alabama—where my wife and I grew up and where both of our families still live—my commitment to community-based medicine runs deep. I began my medical training in the Rural Health Scholars Program at the University of Alabama before completing medical school at UAB and my general surgery residency at Baptist Health in Birmingham. Through specialized training, I developed a broader surgical scope than is typical for a general surgeon, preparing me to handle a wider variety of procedures common in rural environments.

For the past three years, I have practiced rural surgery in Lewistown, Montana. That experience reinforced my passion for broad-scope surgical care and patient-first medicine. I am honored to serve our community with dedication, skill, and personal care.
